Caring For Your Linen
One of the many benefits of linen is the inherent longevity of the fabric because of the strong flax fibres (you can read more about that here). Although linen is very easy to care for, we wanted to share a few tips with you because with a lot of love, you’ll enjoy your linen pieces for eve more years to come.
Washing Linen
We would always suggest hand washing your linen, but it is machine washable and even becomes softer and more absorbed after each wash.
In the machine, use a gentle cycle with like colours.
Always use low temperatures (above 40 is not recommended).
Avoid harsh detergents.
If hand-washing, avoid wringing, twisting and scrubbing.
Drying Linen
Air drying is best.
Avoid extensive spinning and tumble drying.
Dry on low settings if you cannot air dry them.
Ironing Linen
Linen is easy to iron, preferably the the fabric is still damp and inside out.
Steaming is the best option, or hanging the garment in a steamy bathroom.
Storing Linen
Roll linen to keep from folding and creasing in the same place time after time.
Store in a cool, dry place since the natural fibres like to breathe.
